EMDC started on 26th April 2007 by Artistic director Sumeet Nagdev, Sumeet was then India's youngest dancer director registered ever in the history of Indian dance direction and his spirit brought him a Diaspora of dancers
EMDC, concurrently runs a School of Performing Arts under Sumeet’s supervision, giving dance education to children, young adults and adults with different modules of Urban Street Dance, Modern & Contemporary Dance, Classical Ballet, Bharat Natyam and many more with many guest artists from India and various other countries coming and conducting the same
Sumeet has directed hundreds of shows by now out of which a few of his assignments were; Let there be light for United Nations Round Square Conference at Mayo Girls' with Prince Andrew's presence; His choreography while he represented India at the American Dance Festival in 2010; His ad film work with Deepika Padukone for Orbit white film and many more. At a young age representing India, Sumeet along with EMDC dancers has performed every year for his own dance festival AHSAS which started in 2009 and has made 2 full piece productions one being 'Gandhi is Alive’ based on modernizing Gandhian Ideologies and 'Skin Trade' which was based on Child Sexual Abuse. Sumeet is working with his dance company on the next production titled 'Siddhartha meets Gautama' based on Buddhist ideologies and is also working for a dance production called Painter and Sufi Deewane. AHSAS - EMDC's own modern dance festival takes place in April 4th week every year
From working for League Schools, to performing on the streets of Mumbai, from dancing for corporate honchos to dancing for mass audiences in India, From Television Art to Major Dance Festivals, EMDC has done everything possible to increase their magnitude and reach of work
